A male Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus) climbs the trunk of a Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga douglasii) tree. Photographed at Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The male Pileated Woodpecker has this red streak on it's cheek which makes identification relatively straightforward.
